- Weight Forward
- No weight should move laterally away from the target at any time during the swing.
- Shoulder Down
- Hands In
- Arms Straight
- Both arms can't stay straight, but keeping the forward arm straight in the backswing is imperative. The forward arm
also may be elevated to parallel to the shoulders but no higher. In the backswing, your rear elbow should stay
in front of your body, relatively close to your body - although it may extend an inch or two if your lead arm gets
to parallal to your shoulders going back;
it will bend naturally as your forward arm starts to extend across your chest.
Both arms should straighten for a short duration right after impact, then your rear arm will straighten into the
follow through until your hands re-hinge and start slowing down.
- As your backswing nears the top, your rear elbow may be pulled a couple of inches laterally away from your side
if you elevate your front arm to get it parallel to your shoulders (not mandatory but permitted). This is fine
as long as the elbow doesn't pull backwards, and as long as it returns to your side again as the downswing starts.
- The distant between your elbows should remain the same from setup through the swing
sequence all the way to your finish.
- After the backswing is completed, you execute a forward lateral weight shift
to trigger a simultaneous downswing sequence.
- Your head should not move laterally towards the target during any part of the swing; however some rotation is
natural and should not be restricted.
- Tuck Hips
Good players may not conform to every motion exactly, but a semblance of all motions will be present to a degree.
The power from this swing is more catapult based than coil based.
