Tom's Featured Tip: How To Build A Positive Mindset For Putting

For simplicity, all advice on actual swings or drills is provided from a right handed perspective.

I've listed the putting percentage accuracy of tour pro's before, but this time I'm expressing it in an image.

You will build a very positive putting mindset - and reduce your putting strokes - by following the instructions that I've laid out below. There's really no excuse for not being at least a good putter, and I firmly believe that anyone can be great at it with the right mindset and a good practice routine.

How To Build A Positive Mindset For Putting:
  • Print the image out.
  • Attach it to your refrigerator with a magnet so that you see it every day.
  • Every time you see it, say "I can do this" to yourself..
  • Commit to practicing your putting three times per week.
Understand this - If you practice your putting diligently, you can be as good as the chart indicates. It's the one aspect of golf that doesn't require a lot of physical prowess, it just requires practice, dedication, and confidence.

It's hard to overstate the role of confidence in putting, and you can help develop it by frequently mentioning and believing that you can do it to your subconscious mind. This really works.

As a side note, mix in some chipping practice to help get the ball inside of eight feet, and you'll really shave strokes off your score.

Try this, you'll really like it!

If you need help with your putting technique, give me a call at (716) 474-3005 to schedule a lesson. I'd be glad to help you out.
