============================================== Issue 2 Date 12/20/06 ============================================== ============================================== Golf Tip - Find the Bottom of Your Swing ============================================== When instructing the golf swing, I frequently refer to the positioning of the ball, ie: forward, center, or rear placement, in relation to your feet width. The problem is that the center placement you imagine might not be where your club bottoms out during your swing, which is the true center placement of the ball. To find out where your swing bottoms out, set up with a stance parallel to an imaginary ball - target line, feet spaced shoulder width apart. Stick a tee in the ground, at where you think the exact bottom of your swing should be, just outside of where you will be swinging the club. Swing a 6 iron several times and notice the centerpoint of where the clubhead brushes the grass or takes a slight divot. This spot will be the true bottom of your swing, the point where you should position a ball if your selected club requires center placement in your stance, such as a mid iron. Having the ball positioned correctly will give your shots a more true trajectory and line.
