Two Great Training Aids For Indoor or Outdoor Practice The Divot Board This is the most useful ball striking development training aid that I own. Click here ImpactSnap.com to buy now. Start using the ImpactSnap training aid indoors or outdoors to make you instantly aware of proper hand and wrist action, which is second only to low point awareness for great ball striking. Swing Speed Training Sessions Almost daily for the last month or so, my email has been inundated with promos by Hank Haney, one of Tiger's old coaches, where he states "distance determines your potential in golf". I actually agree with that wholeheartedly. That's one of the reasons that senior golfers don't score as well as when they were young. They get shorter off the tee, which requires longer approach shots, which will generally be less accurate than a shorter approach shot. More distance off the tee than you are currently getting requires (not necessarily in exact order for every player):
Details and rates are here: Swing Speed Training I'm looking for four to six players that would be interested in group Swing Speed training sessions on the following session dates. After the three swing speed training sessions, I set up an individual private driver swing lesson with each student. You can bring your own group or participate with others that sign up individually.
Details and rates are here: Swing Speed Training I've always been a proponent if maximizing driver swing speed. When I coached the GCC Golf Team in 2010 and 2011, I wanted to implement that type of training so I did my research and found a plethora of advice on the Internet. My deep dive into the research indicated that a lot of the training modules available contained a lot of overkill. So... in 2011 I developed my own program for the players - a mix of strength training, cardio, and overspeed swing training, and the results were remarkable. The lowest swing speed increase was 5 mph - from 101 mph to 106 mph, and highest gain was 12 mph - from 95 mph to 107 mph. Every single player - 6 males and 1 female - increased their swing speed to some degree. Their training ocurred over a 8 week period. Results of the effectiveness of this type training varies depending on the level of natural speed possesed by each golfer, and if they have ever actually activated their speed potential in any way previous to training. Strength also matters, and that can be develped as well. A 1 mph increase in swing speed will yield between 2.5 to 3 yards of carry off the tee, so all of their swing speed gains resulted in significant yardage gains off the tee. It helped our team go from the middle of the pack regionally in 2010, to winning Regionals in 2011 and finishing fourth in the 2011 National Tournament against teams from all over the East coast. My players then were young and talented, so they adapted to the training very well. My absolute belief is that regardless of your age or gender, and especially if you have never trained specifically for swing speed, you will show swing speed improvement after our four sessions, and you'll have a template to continue your swing speed development on your own in the future. This all goes double for females that have never trained specifically for swing speed. Could you do this on your own? Probably, with a lot of research and trial and error. But as I said before, I sincerely believe that the training modules available through most of the places where you buy swing speed tools involve too much work. I have discovered that sometimes a little less is better for full recovery and full adaptation. Details and rates are here: Swing Speed Training Whenever I'm working on my swing, strength training, etc., I like to get the maximum gain in the least amount of time required to hit my goals. I kept that in mind when I set up these training sessions. They will be intense, and each student should know that they have to regulate their intensity to their own parameters to minimize the chance of any muscle pull or strains. I also believe that you'll love the training, even though it will be rigorous and that I will be pushing you (I'm not a fan of the wussification going on in America) to give your best effort. One caveat - if you have a bad back to begin with, this type of training might not be best for you. You can reserve an individual spot in a group training session, or you can set up your own group or individual training by contacting me at my email address: TomTuckerGolf@gmail.com or by calling or texting me at (716) 474-3005.
